Shades of blue have always been popular as a colour selection for swimming pool mosaics. We are naturally drawn to the appeal of blue water, and blue and white mosaics still represent a significant proportion of sales. In recent times though with the introduction of new colours by the manufacturers and innovations in production technology, the spectrum of colours selected by clients has expanded. Natural stone colours have featured along with pale greys which give a particularly appealing pool water colour. Without doubt though the colour which has grown in appeal the most is green.
Pale greens like “Aqua” from the Mediterranean range, “Galapagos” from the South Seas range and “Jade” from the Abalone series have been popular, but the greatest interest has been shown in mosaics which echo the natural beauty of Bali stone. “Eden Bali” in gloss and matt surfaces along with “Bali Stone” from the Bali & Venato range have featured strongly.
The same phenomenon has been noticed in larger format porcelain tiles selected for use in pool linings. “Seastone” from the Metallic series and in Particular “Tresor Bali” from the Tresor range have featured strongly.
For the client who prefers authenticity we do of course supply the real thing. Natural “Bali Stone” is quarried in Indonesia and is available in several sizes with a “Sawn” surface and natural regularities. A little extra care is needed for the installation, but the results are spectacular.
